Every week the standard of homework for literacy circles is phenomenal! It is so hard to choose our Homework Champions! Here are a few examples of quality homework…
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for our pupils – it is breakfast that gives their brains energy to get going !
Today is Wednesday and as you can see below it is America today at Breakfast Club.
Waffles, muffins and pancakes were disappearing fast !
We have already had France and Germany – still have Scotland to go !
This year’s poetry competition was judged by Mrs Duncan, Chris Galbraith (minister of Boghall Parish church) and Mrs Kathryn Oliver (PT English and Languages at Bathgate Academy). The standard was very high again and gave the judges a hard time choosing Burn’s winners. Well done to all who made it to the final and the effort from across the school. Below is the list of finalists :
1st Star – P7s really enjoyed the Ceilidh at Bathgate Academy. They are becoming avid Scottish country dancers!
2nd Star – We loved learning new dances for the School show.
Wish – To memorise all our lines so that we can make the show perfect!
1st Star: We enjoyed our whole school assembly sharing our Scottish poetry.
2nd Star: We had fun writing our name in hieroglyphics for our desks.
Wish: We would like to achieve all the pom-poms in our jar by working hard and being responsible.
First star – We really enjoyed our first Boghall Burns supper – thanks to P7 for doing a great job of organising!
Second star – Playing dodgeball in P.E!
Our wish – To go on a school trip!
Star 1: We really enjoyed doing number activities on the Nintendo DS’s this week, we had big brains!
Star 2: We really enjoyed listening to the Scottish poems at the super Scottish assembly, everyone did a great job!
Wish: We wish for more golden time in our class.
Star 1: We loved learning how to use the laptops in class, we were very good at it!
Star 2: We enjoyed learning how to add numbers and the dice game was really fun!
Wish: We wish we could get more Lego in our classroom.
1st Star – We enjoyed writing about Katie Morag and came up with lots of super sentences about her.
2nd Star – We enjoyed exploring sounds in music and particularly enjoyed using our voices to make high and low sounds.
Wish – We would like to do more adding with Baker Napier and learn more about addition.
