Primary 5 had their first drumming session with Joe from West Lothian Council’s Cultural Arts services this week. They are learning to play the Djembe drums, Dom Doms and other percussion instruments. We are going to be part of a drumming ensemble in June which will attempt to break the world record for the most amount of drums played at once. We loved it!
Star one – P2 really enjoyed their trip with P3/2 to Dynamic Earth!
Star two – As a class we have enjoyed getting to know each other over the last week!
Wish – P2 want to find out more about science by conducting more experiments and showing them on our class Interest Table.
We have had a very busy first week back after our Easter Holidays. This week our highlights have been:
Star: Playing the djembe drums in music. We are hopefully going to break a world record in June!
Star: Learning about the story of Rama and Sita and why it is important to Hindus. We also got to make diva lamps out of clay.
Wish: We would love to do some cooking!
1st Star – We loved our visit to Dynamic Earth.
2nd Star – We enjoyed practising our handwriting
Wish – We would love to have more cooking.
1st star We really enjoyed performing at this week’s assembly. It was good to share what we have been learning with the whole school.
2nd star We had fun when drawing Dracula’s castle for art. We had to think about line, shape, texture and pattern to create a spooky atmosphere.
Wish We hope that everyone continues to make progress with Maths Minutes and Number of the Day activities.
1st Star: We have enjoyed practicing ways of taking notes in literacy and finding new ways to use them.
2nd Star: We were excited to start new interdisciplinary learning this week, focusing on our local area and use of the land.
Wish: We are looking forward to starting our literacy circle homework with our reading.
First star: Seeing all of our friends again on Monday morning! 🙂
Second star: P.E with Miss Hunter!

Star 1 – We really enjoyed phonics this week. We loved writing more challenging words and sentences.
Star 2 – We enjoyed our structured activity groups and learning about people who help us.
Wish – We wish we could have more outfits in our class to dress up with.
WISH- To keep our class points at zero in the fun day challenge.
The production of the Lion King Jr proved to be a huge success! Well done to everyone involved. It was a very professional production because of the hard work, commitment, dedication and talent of all those involved.
