P3/2 – Celebrating Scottish Book Week.

What a week we have had!!  On Wednesday we celebrated Scottish Book Week by having a gifting party.  The Scottish Government has provided early child from P 1-3 with a book bag filled with lots of goodies including two brilliant reading books.  Today we have had a come as a book character day.  We dressed up as our favourite book character.  In class we read Stickman by Julia Donaldson and enjoyed doing a book review, what comes next sheet, a wordsearch, colouring sheet, making our own stickman and lastly making a stickman on a biscuit with sticky buttercream.  Yummy!!!

P6 two stars and a wish

This week we have enjoyed tricky maths questions using timetables to work out TV, bus and train times. We enjoyed our Business Enterprise, selling to other classes and running our super fun lunch time clubs. We researched Victorian children and used the information to have a debate with P6/5. Book day was super good fun, especially getting to dress up and have our parents watch us complete challenge Friday!

Star – We have enjoyed writing Victorian diaries, pretending we were either very rich or very poor.

Star – We have enjoyed practicing our assembly for next week!

Wish – We wish that the Christmas Fair goes really well!

P5 weekly update :)

Star 1:  We all absolutely loved the whole school trip to the Vue cinema in Livingston to watch the ‘Good Dinosaur’!  Miss Preston was accused of crying at a few points during the movie … she obviously just had something in her eyes 😉 😉  We did a fantastic job representing our school in a very busy Livingston Centre.

Star 2:  We loved the excellent Enterprise Gifts and events that the P7s have been doing and look forward to this week’s too.  You are doing a fab job P7!

Wish for next week: To do science activities relating to our IDL learning on Natural Distasters.

P7 and P6 Businesses

What a busy week we’ve had selling our products and running our services at break and lunch times. Each business has been given two break times/ lunch times and so far every business has been prepared and are making profit! Some businesses have even sold out on their first day and had to restock for the next day – whilst keeping on top of homework/ after school clubs etc! There’s been a few glitches along the way but we see them as learning opportunities and we’ve certainly learned a lot! Thank you to everybody who has supported the businesses so far. We will be continuing with them next week!
