P7 Two Stars and a Wish

1st Star: We have been challenging ourselves with a 2 step question in numeracy. It has been tricky but we are learning from our mistakes.

2nd Star: We enjoyed our food hygiene talk and have learned new information that we can use during our interdisciplinary topic.

Wish: We have chosen to focus on our presentation skills and effort during tasks next week.

P2B 2 Stars and a Wish

1st Star-  We really enjoyed learning about the Jewish festival Sukkot in R.M.E.  We enjoyed making decorations for a sukkah and talking about special times we have meals with our families.

2nd Star-  We have enjoyed all of  the activities we have done during maths week.  We have been busy making pictures from different kinds of shapes and creating large symmetrical pictures.

wish – We would like to learn more about space.

P5 – 2 stars and a wish

1st Star – We loved writing about our new dreams. We mixed up two dreams from ideas from the BFG and created a new dream. Our favourite one seemed to be a new invention with a car that ran on toothpaste combined with an ability to fly.

2nd Star – We are loving the challenge of subtraction algorithm.

Wish – We want to find out what August looks like from the book we are reading as a class novel. The novel is Wonder.

P7 Two Stars and a Wish

1st Star: This week we have really enjoyed Scottish Numeracy week and have been learning a variety of new skills. We enjoyed learning about Fibonacci with Miss Potter and the different ways our brains can grow when we make a mistake. We are building a tool box of strategies to help us fix our Marvelous Mistakes.

2nd Star: We enjoyed the challenge of dictation and are developing our skills of writing and listening at the same time.

Wish: We hope that everyone will hand in their homework and be prepared for PE next week so that we can achieve our marbles.

P7 Two Stars and a Wish

1st Star: We enjoyed problem solving in maths and putting our place value knowledge to the test!

2nd Star: We appreciated the opportunity to complete a risk assessment form for our restaurant topic. This will help us to keep safe when we are cooking.

Wish: We would like to do some interesting art for the cloakroom.

Parent Helpers

We are always looking for parents out there who would like to come in and help!

For those of you who have not volunteered before but would be interested in doing so, here is a brief summary of the type of jobs you could be asked to do:

  • Work with small groups of children on a variety of tasks e.g. art, library, games, phonics, maths, word walls
  • Sharpen pencils, clean paint trays
  • Supervise children working in open areas
  • Mount work for display purposes
  • Take display work down from walls
  • Filing
  • Make costumes for school productions
  • Gardening
  • Admin tasks

There is also a separate list of parents who are happy to help with school outings or events and can be contacted on a ‘one-off’ basis.

If you think you could offer any time to help in school, please contact the school office for a form.

Please note: it is essential that you are disclosed if you wish to be a parent helper. Please call into school and fill in one of the new Disclosure Scotland PVG forms if you do not have a current disclosure. These are available from Mrs Roy in the office.

Parent helpers are an enormous help in the school and your talents and time are much appreciated.
