P4 Assembly

Hi

A reminder that the P4s (from both classes) are hosting tomorrow’s assembly to share our adventures and experiences from Lowport and Alternative Activity Days.

Assembly will start at 11.45am sharp.

We hope to see you there!

P4, Miss Preston and Mrs Bethell

P3A TVs of the Future

After learning about the inventor of the television, John Logie Baird, P3A were set the challenge of working in teams to produce a TV of the future!  They had to work collaboratively to build a 3D model and use their imagination to think of special features TVs might have in the future.  There were lots of creative ideas!

French Twinning News

The RRS group met with Mrs Kerwin from the Bathgate Cran-Gevrier Twinning Association.  They told Mrs Kerwin all about the work of the RRS group and they shared letters that they had written to our twin school in France.  Mrs Kerwin then spoke about the work of the Twinning Committee and the pupils had an opportunity to look at photographs and leaflets.

Merci beaucoup Madame Kerwin!

Lowport!

Good morning from Lowport!

Everyone’s had a great nights sleep and ready for our next day of adventure. We had a brilliant day swimming yesterday and loved the walk back along the canal – we walked nearly 20,000 steps!

We can’t wait for another fun day! See you all tomorrow!

Lowport 2018

We are pleased to let you know that all children will be able to attend our Lowport residential this week from Wednesday to Friday. We are able to join both groups together due to a drop in numbers. There has been a group call sent today with an attachment on your e-mail, detailing some important information. The children have also got a paper copy to take home with them today. Thanks for your patience during this time.

P4 Some additional snow day activities

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! 🙂

The snow is still falling so here are some more ideas to stop you getting bored.

  • Build an igloo!   Then research how an igloo keeps you warm.

  • Write an acrostic poem using words such as Snow, Snowflake, SnowDay

  • Measure how deep the snow is – remember to include the unit of measurement i.e. cm, inches etc

  • Conduct a science experiment by collecting snow in 3 similar sized tubs, wrap one securely in a towel, one securely in tinfoil and leave one uncovered.  Leave over night and see the difference in the morning.  Record any changes and suggest ideas as to why you think these changes have happened.

I hope you are all making the most of the snow and having fun outside!

Send any Powerpoint Files, Photographs etc either via your Glow account or direct to my email:  elaine.preston@westlothian.org.uk
