P7/6 Space Homework Project!

Primary 7/6 have been busy learning all about Space. As part of this Science focus, they were set a homework challenge to research different facts about an aspect of Space that interested them the most.

The projects had to follow a Success Criteria. This was:

  • Front Cover – introducing what your project is on and who by
  • An introduction – why you chose that planet/ astronaut etc
  • Factual information about your topic
  • Pictures or drawings
  • Bibliography –Where you got your information– any websites you used, books, leaflets etc.
  • Glossary – Tricky words which are explained in your own words

Today we shared our projects and gave feedback on each others. They were amazing! Well done for such fantastic effort P 7/6! 🙂

Star:  We have really loved welcoming our new pupil Jack.  He has fitted right in and has made a lot of new friends in Primary 5 already!

Star:  We really enjoyed watching Primary 2’s assembly all about Pirates.  We learned a lot and were very entertained!

Wish:  We really wish that we could do some cooking and learn some Spanish!

Bingo Night

Reminder

On Tuesday 6th October we are having a Bingo Night.  It is normally a great night with lots of super prizes.

If you want a great night out – and a pie and a bit of a chat – come along at 7.00 to the school hall for a 7.30 start.

All welcome !  Looking forward to seeing you.

Tickets available from the office – £2.00.  If you pay at the door on the night there will be no guarantee of a pie – better to order in advance !!!

MacMillan Coffee Morning – Massive Success!!

Thank you to everyone who was involved in our coffee morning for MacMillan Cancer Support on Friday. It was a massive success! There were lots of yummy cakes, biscuits and pancakes, with a nice cup of hot coffee or tea to wash them down!

Also, thank you to everyone who donated delicious home-baking. The effort was outstanding and very much appreciated. Thank you to those who donated large cakes that were raffled off and went to lucky winners – Mrs Ireland, Graeme Totten and Robin Bremner’s Grandma.

These events wouldn’t be possible without the help of the brilliant Pupil Council and parent helpers. Thank you for all your help!

The children in the classes also thoroughly enjoyed tasting yummy shortbread and deciding if it was ‘faked’ or ‘baked’.

We raised a whopping £586 for such a great cause! Thanks again!
