P4 Ancient Greek Olympics – posters

Here are some photos of a few of our completed posters advertising the Greek Olympics.   We successfully managed to include a lot of the information we researched about the Ancient Olympics on to our posters.  One of our favourite facts was that married woman are not allowed to attend!

Safety Scenarios in P4/3

As part of health and wellbeing, P4/3 were thinking about safety in different situations today. In groups they had to role play making good choices, wrong choices or difficult choices in a range of different situations. We discussed choices about crossing the road, playing with matches and eating and drinking unknown substances. Each group made the choice of how to act out the scene which led to some excellent discussion about what could happen. We will continue next week with some more situations.

Netball Masterclass

All pupils at Boghall took part in different masterclasses yesterday. These pupils were enjoying taking part in netball. They watched some videos on the rules and how to play, then they designed their own sports strip. They then played some games and finally we had a mini tournament. All pupils seemed to enjoy themselves and well done to Arran Marr and Lewis Flockhart who were named the star players on the day.

P4’s highlight of the week…

P4 voted their favourite part of this week as researching The Ancient Greek Olympics, as part of their ‘Ancient Greece’ topic.  They found out when, where and why the games first began in Greece and learned about some of the rules – for example, no women were allowed to attend!

They were then set the challenge of using their newly learned  information to design a poster advertising the Greek Olympics – photos are to follow once they are completed!
