Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for our pupils – it is breakfast that gives their brains energy to get going !
Today is Wednesday and as you can see below it is America today at Breakfast Club.
Waffles, muffins and pancakes were disappearing fast !
We have already had France and Germany – still have Scotland to go !
This year’s poetry competition was judged by Mrs Duncan, Chris Galbraith (minister of Boghall Parish church) and Mrs Kathryn Oliver (PT English and Languages at Bathgate Academy). The standard was very high again and gave the judges a hard time choosing Burn’s winners. Well done to all who made it to the final and the effort from across the school. Below is the list of finalists :
1st Star: We enjoyed our whole school assembly sharing our Scottish poetry.
2nd Star: We had fun writing our name in hieroglyphics for our desks.
Wish: We would like to achieve all the pom-poms in our jar by working hard and being responsible.
1st Star: We really enjoyed the Healthy Living assembly and learning the ways we keep healthy.
2nd Star: We had great fun learning about the Egyptian God and Goddesses from over 4000 years ago.
Wish: We would like to keep practicing our French numbers and how to say our age.
1st Star – Watching the Dinosaur DVD and learning lots of interesting facts about them.
2nd Star – Taking notes about dinosaurs from the DVD
1 Wish – To make dinosaur cookies
* We enjoyed designing tartans for Scottish art.
* We liked learning to be quicker at recalling our times tables facts.
Wish We are looking forward to working with Mr Boutoubane.
1st Star: We started to learn about the Ancient Egyptians.
2nd Star: We have been learning how to say the days of the week and months in French.
Wish: We would like to practice our handball skills in PE.
1st star – We have enjoyed making our posters about earth’s time periods.
2nd star – We have enjoyed learning about VCOP in our writing.
1 wish – We would love to make dinosaur cookies.
P3/2 are very excited about their new topic. Before learning all about dinosaurs they have been learning what earth looked like billions of years ago. This is very complicated information to understand but they have been successful in creating posters about some of the different time periods.
P4/3 visited Tesco recently. Tracy and Paul from Tesco took us on the Farm to Fork tour. We found out where food comes from and we even got to taste different kinds of food! At the end our visit we were given a goody bag with lots of games and information. Thank you Tesco!
