• P1A Week Beginning 28th September 2026

  Hello P1A families! I hope you enjoy reading about what the Red table enjoyed learning about at school this week.  Two absences so a bit short this week: Archie loved making shape monsters.  The children revised the 2D shapes they learned in nursery (square, circle, triangle and rectangle) and used these shapes to build shape monsters.  Each of them looked very unique.  Next week we will look at 3D shapes and search for squares, circles, rectangles and triangles within them. • P7a weekly highlights 02.10.26

  This week we have had lots of fun in school. For our literacy, we have been reading chapters 11-13 of Millions and answering some comprehension questions based on chapters 11 and 12. We looked at prefixes for spelling this week. We had a focus on metaphors in our grammar and did some core target writing, focussing again on handwriting and layout this week. In numeracy, we have been converting mixed numbers to improper fractions and vice versa. We also have been looking at perimeter and area of a shape. • Primary 1B Learning Highlights 2nd October 2026

  This week we have been learning all about Fairtrade. We learned about why this is important, about the logo and what products are Fairtrade. As we were learning about our sense of taste we tasted some Fairtrade chocolate and made a graph of our favourite. White chocolate was the winner. We practised our counting and number recognition by counting pictures of Fairtrade products. We then coloured in a graph to show the different products chosen by someone.   In primary 6 this week we have spent a lot of time sharing our learning. Both with each other and with our adults who came to visit us on Friday. We have been sharing our work on our chosen planet with each other which has allowed us to practice our presenting skills as well as working on being a quality audience.   We were also able to welcome our adults into the classroom as we chose our new class novel. • Meldrum Messages – Friday 2nd October 2026

  It’s been a marvellous week here at Meldrum PS.  We’ve taken part in some activities linked to European Languages Day which was last weekend and also learned a bit about fairtrade.  Our after school rugby club started on Monday and went well and our netball club is also running on a Wednesday.  P7 went out to the forest as part of their outdoor learning on Tuesday and had a great time.  They carried out a risk assessment of the forest area which they will share with other classes in preparation for each class getting a forest visit in the coming …
