Pupils visit Cromlix House Hotel.

The 8 Bake Off finalists went to spend some time at Cromlix House Hotel this afternoon.  They were given a tour of the hotel and the garden area.  The children were taught how to properly decorate cup cakes.  A huge thank you to head pastry chef Balazs for teaching the children these new skills.  Also thanks to Darin and Sharon for the garden tour and refreshments!

Here are the children icing their cupcakes and learning new skills by Balazs.

Here are some of the iced cakes produced by the children. A selection of roses and cactus.

We then had a tour of the Cromlix garden with Darin.  We tasted some of the different herbs which are growing and the edible flowers.

The final of The Great Dunblane Bake Off

Friday the 19th of May saw the final of The Great Dunblane Bake Off.  All 8 children were able to independently create the cakes which were delicious and very creative.  Judges came from Cromlix to look and taste the children’s cakes.  They had a very difficult decision to make but they did manage to choose a winner.

Well done to all the children who took part.

THE GREAT DUNBLANE BAKE OFF

The Great Dunblane Bake Off took place on Friday the 12th of May.   The pupils all worked very hard to produce tasty and creative cakes.   We had a range of Judges including The Dunblane Hilton, Tilly’s Tearoom, Leigh from the Dunblane Centre, DJ, Nathan, Margaret and Krissie.  It was a difficult decision to make!  The 8 winners will bake their cakes independently on Friday the 19th of May in the school kitchen.

We invited the Community of Dunblane in to sample the cakes on Friday afternoon and at the same time we managed to raise £240.  This money will go towards ingredients for the pupils to use in the kitchen.

DUNBLANE PRIMARY SCHOOL COMMUNITY CAFE

On Friday the 12th of June (not the 19th as stated in The Wire) the school will be holding a Community Café in the school from 2-4PM.  This will be an opportunity for parents, pupils and members of our community to come into the school and have a coffee, a chat and an opportunity to see and taste some of the cakes which our youngsters have made.  We hope to see as many people as possible that afternoon.
