Jackton’s Voice’s
“I found this to be a great opportunity for me to get to know my child’s new key worker, and for my child to meet them in the comfort of his own home. The first visits to nursery have gone very well, and it has really helped that he already recognised some familiar faces” (Parent, Home Visit August 2025).
“It has been a pleasure to work with you over the past two years. You are a very welcoming and attachment focused nursery. From my experience, I have seen you put the needs of children first, time and time again. This has included soft starts, introducing ‘no shoes’ policies, regulation breaks and fun! The skills that I have noticed across your setting are relationship based practice, responding with empathy to distress, getting down to the child’s level to communicate, active listening, following children’s interests, understanding of sensory needs, offering choices, acceptance of behaviours (all behaviour is communication without blame on the child), strong assessment work to identify children’s needs with tailored strategies, and valuing of the importance of routines. Another strength in your nursery is an understanding of the value of small steps of progress and the genuine delight when progress is made. Similarly, staff are aware of the importance of putting boundaries in place and of promoting high expectations for children – believing children can achieve.
You welcome partnership and collaborative working and are always interested in the views of other professionals” (Educational Phycologist, July 2025).
“We couldn’t let another minute pass without saying the biggest heartfelt thank you to all the Jackton ELC team for the most beautiful graduation yesterday.
All the learning and amazing progress the little ones have made is so evident but beyond that, what mattered most to us is the fact that it was so clear how well every single precious wee soul has been loved, nurtured and totally inspired within the setting” (Parent, June 2025)
“The nursery team have made consistent efforts to harness a welcoming environment and have taken part in learning about Eid & Ramadan showing our children their religion is a part of everyday life that they they can feel confident in sharing it with their friends growing up and speaking about it”. (Parent June 2025)
“Our son is had such amazing support from everyone in Jackton ELC. He has come on leaps and bounds and they have gotten him ready for school through supporting his needs and encouraging his interests” (Parent May 2025).
” I love to play with the building blocks with my friends”. (Child, May 2025).
“Playing outside with water, or building is my favourite. I’m good at puzzles too, nursery is the best” (Child, May 2025).
“We feel the family engagement at Jackton has been very good through a wide range of stay and play opportunities offered, sports day, parent meetings and regular learning journal updates. These events / methods of communication have been really informative and very well organised (Parent, January 2025).
“I have been extremely pleased with our son’s settling in period. Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly. The fact our son has been so happy to go to nursery says it all and we want to thank you for making him feel part of the nursery so quickly” (Parent, Sep 2024).
“The staff are wonderful at calming our little one in the mornings when she is a little upset. The facility is fantastic and the set up of lunches is great as there is always an option she loves. We’re really happy with how well our little one has settled in and its all thanks to the staff within the playroom. She loves it and we cant wait to see if she can attend more days” (Parent, Sep 2024).
