Weekly Work 18.5.2020

Goooood Morning Room 13! 🥰

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  I wanted to start off by reminding you of how proud I am of you and how well you have been doing during this very strange time.  Please remember it is okay to have good and bad days, we all have them!  I am hoping the weather picks up a little bit this week so we can get ourselves outside lots over the next few days! ❤️

Now this Friday and next Monday are a holiday so we will do our check-in station on Thursday and will dive straight in with a Tuesday challenge next week! 😁

Have a look at all your amazing work from last week.  Open this up and run it as a PowerPoint Presentation… enjoy!

Room 13’s Amazing Work

I have a special Tuesday challenge for you tomorrow, so keep your eyes peeled on the blog!  You do not need to rush this one as I need your help to film something, send it over to me, so I can put it together and share it with you on Friday.  I won’t say anymore than that just now…

I have tried to balance written and active tasks this week.  I think it was quite difficult going from our Lock Down Lockerbie tasks, straight back into online learning.  So I have tried my best to include a mixture of activities this week and hopefully there are things in there that you will enjoy!

P7’s remember to keep checking this link for lots of information from Stonelaw High School!

I was super impressed with how many of you tried more than one Chilli Challenge last week! So I have decided to upload the same style of work for maths this week.

  • I would love to fill this week with some positivity.  I want you to think of your time at Burnside and choose a couple of your favourite memories and write a recount.  This might be a favourite trip, a favourite subject, a favourite teacher, a favourite memory you have with your friends or something you have thought of on your own!  I would love for you to type this up so I can put all these together.  Try to make each memory into a paragraph, lots of detail to make the reader really interested.  I hope some of these will make me laugh too!  It does not need to be from this year… or you might want to choose a memory from P1, P4 and P7 to create a timeline of your favourite memories at Burnside!

  • SPECIAL TASK! Wednesday is National Thank A Teacher Day and I would like us to spread some Room 13 love to some of the amazing teachers who helped us this year.  I need you to make the most colourful poster to thank a teacher!  It could be Mr Campbell, Mrs McGarvey, Miss Mailley, Mrs Harkins, Mrs Russell (just some suggestions!)  Send me your photos and I will email them on to the teacher.  I think this would be really special and something they would love to receive… especially since they haven’t seen you in so long!

  • Have a look at the link below.  Can you gather items in your garden or from a local park to create your own Flower Art Print?

Let’s have a great week everyone.  Remember I am working at the Hub on Tuesday and Wednesday so if you need me it might take me a little longer to respond.  However I am hoping that when I get home on Tuesday, I will have loads of submissions for the Tuesday Challenge.

Remember to check in with me throughout the week and send me over photos of your work!

Missing you all loads and will speak soon,

Miss M x
