At Black Mount Primary School, we greatly value the partnership between home and school, and our Parent Council plays a key role in helping to strengthen this relationship. Made up of parents and carers who volunteer their time, the Parent Council works alongside the school to support our children, share ideas, and help shape the life of our school community.
The Parent Council provides a welcoming forum where parents can have a voice, contribute to school improvement, and work together with staff for the benefit of all learners. Whether supporting school events, fundraising for additional resources and opportunities, or offering feedback on school initiatives, the Parent Council helps to create a strong sense of community and belonging. We are incredibly grateful for the enthusiasm, commitment and support of our Parent Council members, whose contributions help make Black Mount Primary School such a positive and vibrant place for our children to learn, grow and thrive.

Our Parent Council meets regularly throughout the school year to discuss matters that are important to our children, families and wider school community. These meetings provide an opportunity to share ideas, plan events and fundraising activities, discuss school developments, and strengthen the partnership between home and school. To support these discussions, Mrs Shields prepares a report for each meeting, providing updates on school improvement priorities, learning and teaching, pupil achievements, upcoming events and other key developments. This helps ensure that Parent Council members are well informed and able to engage meaningfully in conversations about the life and work of the school.
