Working Together at Black Mount Primary School
At Black Mount Primary School, we place great value on the strong partnerships we build with our families. Open, honest and respectful communication helps us work together in the best interests of our children and ensures that concerns, questions and celebrations can be shared in a positive and supportive way.
To help us communicate effectively, we ask parents and carers to use the school’s agreed communication channels. For general enquiries, attendance matters or routine updates, please contact the school office. If you wish to discuss an aspect of your child’s education, wellbeing or wider school experience, Mrs Shields is always happy to help and can be contacted through the school office or via email. As teaching staff are focused on preparing learning and supporting children throughout the school day, emails sent directly to class teachers may not be monitored or responded to.
We also ask that all communication is courteous and respectful, recognising that staff are not expected to respond outside of working hours. For urgent matters during the school day, a telephone call to the school office is the quickest and most effective way to ensure information is received promptly. Where a meeting is required, we kindly ask that appointments are arranged in advance so that sufficient time can be set aside for discussion.
Our Parent Council plays an important role in supporting school life, sharing ideas and strengthening links between home and school. However, individual questions or concerns regarding your child should always be raised directly with the school in the first instance. This allows us to address matters promptly, fairly and in line with local authority procedures.
By working together with kindness, respect and a shared commitment to our children, we can continue to nurture the positive, welcoming and supportive school community that makes Black Mount Primary School such a special place to learn and grow.
