P1 – Learning (B)log – Week 6

This week we have learned the sounds r and h and Frisky 5.  We learned about making shoeboxes for the children who don’t have any toys.  We went to Art with Mrs Johnston, Fun Fit with Mrs Murray and worked with all the big boys and girls in Task Force.

This week we have enjoyed making 100 piece jigsaws, playing in the sandpit, Lego,  jelly in the water tray and Show and Tell.

Next week we will be learning 2 new sounds, a new number, continuing with our reading and lots of new play activities.

task force

On Monday we get into new Task Force groups for this year. The whole school got into mixed age groups. First we got a piece of paper and wrote our names in the middle then in the top left was corner was we had to write what our favourite toy was. In the top right corner we had to write what our favourite place to go was. In the bottom left corner we had to write what our  favourite food was. In the bottom right corner was what clubs we go to. We wrote about this so we could get to know each other. Then we made a group tree. We each drew our hand and wrote our names on the hands and then we decorated them with glitter and gems or whatever design you wanted. After making our hand prints we glued the hand on a picture of a tree that we made and stuck the hand on the tree. Then we had to think of a name for our group. Everyone worked together really well. Spring Task Force

Our end of term Task Force afternoon was a great success with all Primary pupils enjoying their Spring craft making.  Mrs Scott works hard to make sure we have lovely things to make and working in our teams means we can all help each other.

Our display is bright and colourful and will give us something beautiful to come back

to after the Easter holidays.

Christmas Task Force!

Today we were doing our Task Force, based on the 12 days of Christmas. Task Force is activities we do in groups with mixed classes, from primary 1 to 7. We look after the school and make sure it is kept in good condition. But sometimes we do big group craft activities like at Christmas and Easter. Everybody enjoyed helping each other and making the crafts. It’s a great way to get everybody involved!
