This week we did science with Mr.Rose, this term we are doing water with him. We were saying that all living things need water, we also learned about the water cycle.

We also made clay birds in class. There is a whole range of birds from Eagles to Puffins, ducks skories and any other British sea birds

PRIMARY 1 – WEEK 4 – LEARNING (B)LOG

This week we have learned the ‘n’ sound and all about Butterfly 3.  We have been listening to Roald Dahl’s story of the Enormous Crocodile and enjoyed a pop-up French story about Boucle D’or.

 

This week we have enjoyed doing Show and Tell, crafting, the morning walk, the playdough challenge, making words with our sounds and drawing with the chalk pens.

 

Next week we would like to learn how to count forwards and backwards, make some playdough and make it sparkly, learn about Feathery Four and learn some more sounds.

Making sushi

This term Primary 3/4 are learning about Japan.

Today P3/4 made sushi.

“First Mrs Moffat cooked the rice. We added the rice to the nori sheets then we put tuna on and cucumber. Then we rolled it up. Then Mrs Mouat and Mrs Moffat helped us cut it up into peerie bits and we all tried it. Some people had wasabi paste it was spicy. We thought it was great fun making sushi”.

A taste of Thailand

Catherine’s parents have been helping us in school this morning to make some delicious Thai food.  Making the food was great fun and the verdict on the taste …… Awesome! We also learned a few Thai words  Khobkhun Ka! Thank you so much, we had a wonderful time and learned a lot.

A Visit to P1/2 by Nurse Lynn

We had a fantastic visit from Nurse Lynn today who told us all about the jobs that nurses have to do.  She brought in lots of equipment for us to look at and use.  We had a baby clinic, weight & height checks, things to check our lung and oxygen levels as well as bandages, syringes and other items a nurse would use.

Polycrub update

Thank you to all who helped after tea on Election day.

The flash does make it look really late but we started and finished attaching the roofing section sheets between 1830 hours and 2230 hours.

Scottish opera

On Thursday Scottish opera came to our school to help us put on a show, it was called tam o’ shanter, the schools that came was whiteness, sandness, Happy hansel, Nesting and Aith, the show was a great success, first we had a dress rehearsal for Primary one, two, three and four and then we did it for family and friends.

 

Aith’s got talent

 

On Wednesday night we had a talent show in aith there was 15 acts the 4 acts that got a prise was Catherine, Eryn and Shannice , Duncan and Robert and Shona, Bethany , Anya Eva and Yelena. The night was a big success, the night was also full of amazement and laughter and winners being the short sketch. ( Shona, Bethany, Anya, Eva and Yelena. )
