Let’s circus comes to the school
On Wednesday the circus came to the school. They were a group called Lets Circus and you might have seen them on Wednesday night. They were running workshops for P4-S4 and we went to see them. P7-S4 all went to the leisure centre and did some activity a with the circus people. One of them came from Iceland and did extreme hula hooping. Another one was from Kenya and he did acrobatics with a woman from New Zeland. We started off in groups and did 3 of the 4 activitys. The one we most enjoyed was the acrobatics, here are some picutres.
Primary 1 maths
Primary 1 are learning about capacity and volume.  We used language such as full, empty, nearly empty, half full and half empty.
Everyone thought they could use this capacity language in the bath, shower or sink at home.
Primary 3 being teachers!
Today, primary 2 were learning about division for the first time. After spending some time discussing it as a class, every P2 paired up with two P3s who showed them how to do division using cubes. The P3s were fantastic at explaining and helping their classmates figure out the workbook page too. I’m very proud of how well everyone managed to listen to each other. It’s great to have experts in the class when you’re learning a new skill, P2 are very lucky!
Story Spinners with P2/3
This week P2/3 have used ‘Story Spinners’ to help them create interesting stories. Primary 2 had to get a character and setting to write about, while Primary 3 also had to think about characteristics, props and keywords! We spend some time coming up with ideas for stories based on the information everyone had been given. After this thinking time, we used story planners to start to think about what we want to happen at the start, middle and end. I can’t wait to read the finished stories next week!
Learning in the sunshine!
Last week we had great weather, so P2/3 tried to get outside as much as possible. We did maths in the multi-court, learning how to count in 2s and 3s while playing duck, duck, goose! We also chose to do our spelling practice outside using chalk to write on the walls and ground.

Duncan our janitor not only does a fabulous job of looking after us and our school grounds but he also came to show us the caterpillars he is growing.
They are growing fast and will hopefully be a beautiful addition to our butterfly garden.

Libby took in an egg that came from her and Ashley’s hen, she didn’t think it would make a very good fry up!

Primary 1 and 2 are encouraged to take photos of their play activities which can’t be kept but things they would like to keep a record of.
