What we learned in P2 this week

This week we learned about alphabetical order and where things are listed in alphabetical order. We used a dictionary to find words and write them in order and learned that the class register is alphabetically listed by surname. We worked in pairs to arrange words and we looked at indexes at the back of non fiction books.

We wrote words that rhyme with ‘ow’ such as snow and window. We wrote a story ‘Lost and found’ and answered a question about our reading books.

In maths we learned the names and properties of some 3D shapes, and what the ‘D’ stands for.

We also began the concept of multiplication through grouping cubes into sets.

In art we drew and painted a koala.

P2 weekly spelling

Here is the list of words that p2 are learning this week. The list is a mix of words that can be blended, tricky words and words in a set.

The lists are sent home with the children so please practise them at home if you can.
