Belmont Transition Christmas Disco Review

On the 14th of December pupils from Holmston Primary School went to the Belmont transition disco for all of the P7 pupils in the Belmont Cluster. It was for us to meet new people so moving on to High School isn’t as tough. It was a fun night with lots of Scottish Dancing. We did dances such as Gay Gordon’s, Canadian Barn Dance, Dashing White Sergeant, Military Two Step and many more. During half time we all got a complimentary ice lolly there was also a tuck shop. After half time we started more Scottish dances we even did some of them to Christmas songs which were much quicker. Once we had finished the Scottish dances we danced to YMCA, Macarena and had the Conga – Boys versus Girls. The Boys Won! We played the Corner Game. After that it was time to leave. All round it was a fun night.

Whitletts Activity Centre Football Tournament Review

On the Wednesday 14th of December we went to a school football tournament at the Whitletts activity centre. We were quickly told about the rules and then we were told who we were playing first. We were on the bench first. The games were 7 minutes. We played Alloway first. It was a tough game but we managed to score one to seal the game. We had a quick drinks break then watched the Grammar vs Alloway game then we were quickly on against Forehill in our 2nd match. The game kicked off and we quickly grabbed a goal we were in complete domination in the match and grabbed a 2nd goal. The game ended 2-0 Holmston. Our 3rd and final match was against Grammar we were determined not to concede and we got what we wanted! We quickly came on and bagged a goal not long after we scored again then in the last minute of the match we scored and the whistle was blown for full time.

Overall we scored 6 goals as a team

Conceded 0 goals

And won all 3 games!!

Maths Challenge – Elf Suits!

elf2Mrs Claus made four of the workshop elves new suits for Christmas.

Each suit had matching trousers, waistcoat, jacket and hat.

One suit was all red, one was all green, one was all yellow and one was all blue. The elves were delighted with their presents, but decided it would be fun to wear a different outfit every day for as many days as possible. So they agreed to swap around parts of their suits until they ran out of new combinations.

How many days did their fun last?

South Ayrshire – the best place to grow, learn and play.

The Scottish Government launched Scotland’s first Play Strategy in June 2013 which articulates the critical importance of play as well as an obligation to protect children’s ability to play.

South Ayrshire Council is seeking your views on:

*  Where children play
*  Outdoor Play
*  Who children play with
*  Play sessions available
*  How often children play

We welcome your comments on the above to help shape a Play Strategy for Early Learning and Childcare across South Ayrshire.

Please find below a parent/carers survey monkey questionnaire:
