Barr Primary School – Working Towards Reading Schools Accreditation

At Barr Primary, we are excited to announce that we are working towards gaining our Reading Schools accreditation through the Scottish Book Trust! This national initiative encourages schools across Scotland to foster a culture of reading for pleasure, aiming to inspire young readers, boost literacy skills, and build a lifelong love for books.

Through this journey, we are actively engaging pupils, staff, and the wider community to make reading a key part of our everyday life at school. From fun reading challenges and book clubs to creating welcoming reading spaces, our goal is to provide every child with the opportunity to explore a wide range of stories and genres.

By working together, we hope to achieve the Core Accreditation and demonstrate our commitment to improving literacy and encouraging a love for reading in all our pupils.

Stay tuned for updates as we work towards this exciting accreditation!
