We worked hard to achieve the top level award of The Green Flag in 2010 and we have been successful in renewing it every 2 years since, our latest renewal was in June 2019.

Our most recent topics have been Litter, Biodiversity and School Grounds and Food and the Environment.  At Barr Primary School and Early Years Centre we promote sustainability and our Sustainable Development Goal for the last session was 15 – Life on Land.  As part of our work on these topics we’ve been carrying out litter audits and taking part in litter picks, studying the biodiversity of the local environment and thinking of ideas of how we can help protect it and introduced a healthy tuck shop and explored new foods to develop our diets.

We use our ECO schools’ notice board to keep the school up to date with our progress and share news at assemblies.

We are now in the process of finalising our committee and action plan for the 2019-2021 assessment.
