Parent Forum/Council

Parent Forum and Parent Council at Barr Primary School

At Barr Primary School and Early Years Centre, we believe that parents play a crucial role in their child’s education. As a parent or carer of a pupil at our school, you are automatically a member of the Barr Primary and Early Years Centre Parent Forum.

What is the Parent Forum?

The Parent Forum is a collective group of all parents and carers who have children attending our school. This forum provides a platform for parents to engage with the school, share ideas, and contribute to their child’s educational experience.

The Role of the Parent Council

The Parent Forum is represented by the Parent Council, which serves as a supportive and active part of our school community. The Parent Council is involved in a variety of activities, including:

  • Supporting the Work of the School: The Parent Council works closely with the school to support various initiatives and projects that benefit the pupils.
  • Fundraising: Organising and participating in fundraising events to provide additional resources and opportunities for the pupils.
  • Organising Events: Planning and coordinating events that bring the school community together.
  • Assisting in the Appointment of Senior Staff: The Parent Council may be involved in the recruitment process for senior staff positions within the school.
  • Gathering and Representing Parents’ Views: The Parent Council gathers feedback from parents and represents their views to the Head Teacher, Education Authority, and HMIe.

Get Involved

We encourage all parents to get involved with the Parent Council. Your voice is important, and by participating, you can help shape the educational experience at Barr Primary School and Early Years Centre. All parents are notified of upcoming meetings, and minutes from previous meetings are always available for review.

Please join us and have your say. ALL WELCOME!
