The St. Fergus Pupil Council have been brainstorming ideas for our Easter fundraiser as Lent is a time of almsgiving and we want to show our care and support to SCIAF. They are a charity who help support those in need with an aim to end poverty. For our fundraiser this year we have have chosen…
Bunny Bingo – 31st March.
Maisie and Chelsea from our Pupil Council will be coming around the classes on the week beginning 14th March until the 25th March to sell Bingo tickets. Tickets will cost £1 for a strip, children are able to buy multiple strips. Children will take part during school hours and there will be prizes for winners in each class!!
We will also be having an Easter Egg hunt on the 30th March. All children will take part in this with the chance to win prizes for the most eggs found.
Children and young people who are 5–21 years old will need a new or replacement National Entitlement Card (NEC) or Young Scot National Entitlement Card (Young Scot NEC) to travel for free by bus. Parents or guardians of 5–15 year olds must apply on their behalf. Children under 5 years old already travel for free on commercial bus services and do not need a card.

The Pupil Council created a questionnaire using the How Good Is Our School Document for Children. We asked questions relating to our teaching and learning. One of the main themes from each class was pupil’s wanted more outdoor equipment.
The Pupil Council worked with Mrs McDonald to order equipment for each class to be used for outdoor learning and break times. We ordered Jumbo connect 4, gigantic playing cards, frisbees, quoits, mini golf sets, frisbee golf, and large skipping ropes. Dominik and Maisie from P7 spent some time setting this up before Christmas. We are excited for all classes to start using it this week and are going to make sure everybody is responsible for our school equipment by talking at assembly this Friday. We have included some pictures of our outdoor equipment for you to see all the fantastic resources we have purchased to improve our outdoor space.
New school meal menus are now live, providing children with some of the food they love while still keeping within the new food and drink in schools legislation.
Thanks to parents and pupil feedback, some favourites returning will be:
Chicken poppers
Sandwich options
Hot dogs
Vegetarian sausage rolls
Vegan and vegetarian options will be available, and we will continue to provide medical diets as required.
School meals still need to be balanced to ensure they meet the new food regulations, but children will get their favourites as part of the new menu, just not all the time.
We are so proud of Annie (P1) and Ayda (P5) who have been collecting coppers and lose change so that they were able to buy Greggs Vouchers for those less fortunate or homeless.
Annie and Ayda gave their vouchers to the ‘Help the Homeless Charity’ .
Well done girls, thank you for being so kind and generous at Christmas time.
