Renfrewshire Active Schools Survey

Renfrewshire Active Schools have now launched our Pupil Activity Survey for 21/22. This short survey will allow your Active Schools Coordinator, Amy Couttie, learn more about your level of participation within sport and work to provide opportunities that are going to engage your child in sport and physical activity.

We aim to receive back a survey from every child around Renfrewshire and we can only do this with your support.

If you have a spare minute, could I please ask you to fill out the survey below for your child/children.

As always, thank you for your continued support.

Kind Regards,

West Johnstone Campus Health Day 2021

Today we have been enjoying taking part in various activities for our Joint Campus Health Day.

We had lots of fun navigating an obstacle course on the pitch.

Then we participated in a range of sports around the school such as rugby, volleyball, basketball, athletics and problem solving.

Primary 4-7 also took part in Anti-Bullying workshops with Brian Donnelly.  All classes also participated in Health and Wellbeing activities in class.

Place2Be Consent

Hello St. David’s Families,

Welcome back! It has been so wonderful seeing you all back at school.

The Place2Be counselling program in West Johnstone Campus has resumed, including our work with parents, one-to-one counselling, and our lunch time self-referral service called Place2Talk, which was hugely popular last year with students.

Previously, signed permission slips were required for pupils to be able to use the Place2Talk service. We have now moved to a negative consent, meaning that if you want your child to have access to this service, no signed permission slip is required, just do nothing. How simple is that?!

If you DO NOT want your child to have access to this service please contact me or the school (via email, phone, or morning drop off), or print off and return the negative consent form below (printed copies can be collected from the school office) and we will remove your child from the approved list. You can change your consent at any time.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or your head teacher. I am so excited to be working with your kids during this academic year.

Attached at the bottom of this post is the negative consent form as well as a FAQ sheet about the Place2Talk program.

Click the link below and the file will download. If you have any trouble viewing the document please contact me, and I can send you a copy via email or home with your child.

PATHS Programme for Schools

St David’s deliver the PATHS Programme for Schools (UK Version).  This is a social and emotional learning programme that teaches children about their emotions and facilitates the development of self control.  We work with a coach from Barnardo’s who helps us with delivery and as part of their role the coach gathers anonymised surveys to assess the impact of the programme.  Please read the attached privacy statement and contact our coach Katrina McGovern via email at katrina.mcgovern@barnardos.org.uk if you would not like your child to be included in any surveys or feedback activities.
