Nursery Day

The daily routine is very flexible allowing us to use the interests of the children and unexpected, responsive learning opportunities. The routine varies from day to day, with a balance of child-led free play and adult-led activities. Our nursery is arranged in zones to ensure the room flows and that connections can be made between and across areas of learning. Literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing are embedded in and through all zones of our nursery.

Social Literacy

This area promotes communication, language and literacy skills through play in a number of ways including opportunities to explore rhymes, songs, books and stories, to develop skills in mark making and create time to ask and answer questions about very interesting things!

Discovery Play

This area allows for collaborative working, decision making, investigation of different materials, enquiry skills and problem solving  to be developed through the use of resources such as blocks, sand, water and creative materials.

Outdoors

The outdoor environment has massive potential for learning therefore we ensure that children’s learning experiences can be enhanced by maximising the potential of the outdoors. All children have daily access to the outdoor environment.
