Early Level Life Skills

Early Level – Life Skills

LIFE SKILLS are a great way of supporting children’s learning progression. They can help with literacy, numeracy, Health and Wellbeing and other subject areas. Life skills activities include activities you can do with your children which develop basic skills for life, but also supports skills for learning e.g. cooking, shopping, gardening etc.

These activities are also a great way for families to learn together and build positive relationships in the family.

It’s good for children and young people to have a routine as they are learning at home. This is what they would usually have at school and there are many benefits:

  • Routine will support the seamless transition of children back to school
  • Routines help children to feel safe and secure
  • Routines support positive behaviour
  • Routines support parents to continue to work from home/ complete house work etc
