Our French and German Morning

On the last day of term just before the Easter holidays, the whole school invited parents along to find out out what the children had been learning in French and German.

Parents watched videos, which the classes had made, showing songs and games they use to help them learn new vocabulary.

Everyone then joined together to have a selection of French and German foods for their breakfast. Thank you to Mrs Chalamanda who came along and made delicious waffles!

The morning ended with the children singing a few songs in French and German to the parents.

A wonderful morning to start us on our holidays!

Spelling Bee Competition

Today the whole school was invited to take part in the Spelling Bee competition.  Lots of the children took up the challenge and by doing so earned points for their House. We definitely have plenty of confident individuals at Braco School-well done!

In the end there was a winner from each class and an overall winner for the Junior classes and Senior classes. Congratulations to all our winners and once again a BIG WELL DONE for everyone who took part!

House Party!

Today the school launched our new Houses with a House Party.

Each House has two House Captains. all the children were then allocated the house that they were going to be in for the year.

Today they started off the competition with a Dance Party using the Wii. Everybody that moved along to the music earned points for their House.

We finished off with some party snacks!

Liam Davie comes to Braco!!

Today we were joined by British Gymnast- Liam Davie! Liam won a Silver Medal at the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and is hoping to do the same in 2018.

First of all the whole school took part in a fitness circuit….even the teachers!

After this Liam told us all about his life and what it takes to be a gymnast.

Liam let the children ask him questions and he was impressed by the questions.

His final piece was to show us two backwards somersaults!!

The children who raised money got a poster or postcard or a picture with Liam!

It was a fantastic morning and over £700 was raised by the children.

Liam commented on how Braco was the best school he had visited around Scotland!
