3.5.19

A great day in Primary 1. We’ve worked so hard today!

We enjoyed our reading tasks this morning before going out to play with the nursery preschoolers. After break we went to gym and took part in some obstacle courses.

This afternoon we completed some maths before exploring some of our rights in health and well-being.

Our Learning Zone was closed today as it was transformed into ‘space’ so we had a little play with some of our new resources in the classroom.

Have a brilliant long weekend & see you on Wednesday!

Awesome ICT

Today we were able to tell Mrs Thomson how we get onto Word & how to use the “down & around” button to go onto a new line. Then Mrs Thomson showed us how to change the size of our text & how to change the colour.

Some of us had a chance to play on the interactive board too!

29/4/19 Homework

 Fairytale of the Week:

Our Fairytale of the week is Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
We have set up the tuff spot in the class with lots of props and masks for the children to retell the story.
Ask your child to retell you the story at home. Who were the characters in the story? Where was the story set?

PE

We are now attempting to change into our gym kit every time we have gym.  Please ensure your child has a change of shoes for inside and gym kit.  Thank you

Bug hunting!

Mr Green found a set of keys… the boys and girls thought they might open the gate over the school pond!

Primary 1 found lots of interesting insects and loved exploring the wildlife in the playground and pond in the senior playground.

ICT – Typing

After playtime Primary 1 we’re using the keyboards in ICT to write their names. They were able to type their name multiple times, leave a finger space and take a new line. Fantastic work Primary 1.

28.3.19

Remember our post last week about retelling the story of the Little Red Hen? Well today we had a go at changing parts of the story to make it our own! We had a Little Green Hen who lived in a cotton candy castle, spiders, farmers & cows that all could talk & instead of corn the animals could eat hotdogs!

It was a lot of fun playing with a familiar story!

 Fairytale of the Week:

Our Fairytale of the week is still The Ugly Duckling.

Can you tell the story to a member of your family?  Perhaps you could draw a picture to help you.  Do bring it into class to show us!

We have set up the tuff spot in the class with lots of props for the children to retell the story.

We had a great morning retelling the story of The Little Red Hen. We listened to the story without pictures, joined in retelling the story with Mrs Thomson & then created a story map. We used the story map to retell the story to a partner. We couldn’t believe how well we could tell the story!

We have also been learning how to tell the time using o’clock – we are getting pretty good.
