Our school

We visited Mrs Tagg and Mrs Sneddon go find out about their jobs.

We got to see all the things in the office.

Some of us got to use the telephone to call the ladies in the kitchen.

Then we went to visit Miss Ferguson and see her office.

Learning Window

Please take a look at our Learning Window.

This is displayed outside the classroom and updated weekly.

Here you will find:

  • our number of the week
  • the sounds we are learning that week
  • our 3 common words for the week
  • our nursery rhyme of the week

Please take the time to discuss your child’s learning with them and find out what they have been learning in class.

It can be a good distraction if your child is upset in the line in the morning.

As always, your support is very much appreciated.

Important Letters

Today your child has come home with 3 important letters.

Please return these to the school as soon as possible.

One of the letters concerns our P1 Homework Workshop.

These will run on Tuesday 4th September and Wednesday 5th September from 3pm until 3:30pm.

You are welcome to attend one session or both.

Please indicate on the form which support session you wish to attend and return as soon as possible.

Lunches

We are getting very good in the dining hall. We sit beautifully for Fiona to invite us up for our lunch.

The packed lunches get a special table to sit at.

We wait in the queue with our trays and our coloured bands.

Fiona serves us at the hatch.

Yesterday we had burgers and Mr Kiernan sang us his burger song.

Maths

We sang Five Speckled Frogs.

We used the little teddy bears to make patterns.

We tried to make n,bees using tens frames.

Some of us made patterns.

We played with the number stones too to help us write our numbers.

Names names names

Today we made our big book of names.

We coloured our name in all the colours of the rainbow.

We tried hard to stay in the lines.

Then we posted our name in the big book at our letter of the alphabet.

Then we practised over writing our names and using our very own whiteboards.
