P1 Thursday update!

So we have learned the sounds s and a and have been working hard to write the sounds the correct way and think of words with the sounds in them.

We have also been learning how to write the number 3.

Can you spot any of your sounds and numbers at home?

We have finished our class charter and it looks great.

Our RIGHTS are around the tree.

Our agreed RESPONSIBILITIES are on the tree trunk

We have also been doing a lot of talking and listening and finding out about each other and how we feel.

We liked talking about and drawing life in lockdown. Take a  look at our wonderful work …

Tuesday sounds

Today we learned our first sound -a- for animal, alligator, apple.
We practised writing a and learned about words that start with a.

We we met Geraldine the giraffe who helps us with our sounds.

Can you find the a sound at home?

Our Rights!

Today we learned about the rights we have as children.  We learned 5 of the rights we have in school.
We have the right to:
BE SAFE
LEARN
PLAY
BE HEARD
BE HEALTHY
We discussed how we get these things in school and what we need to do to be responsible in school too.  we are going to make a class charter to display our rights and responsibilities in school.  It is going to be a tree which will change with the seasons.
Today we decorated flowers and drew round our hands to make green leaf prints to decorate our summer tree.
When it is finished we will take a picture and let you see it.

Syllables!

Today in Primary 1 we were learning about syllables. We clapped and said the number of syllables in each of our names and the children wanted to go home and clap the number of syllables in each of your names at home!
We also learned about the number zero and that it is a superhero because without it there would be no number above 9.
Watch the zero superhero video here:

Primary 1 fun!

In the last couple of days we have been working really hard and getting used to new routines.  We have enjoyed playing outside and playing with our playdough.
We have also been using pencil control to create patterns on kites.
We have sequenced how to plant a flower and made sunflower art too after we remembered coming into school in June to plant a sunflower.
Have a look at some of our work and activities below.
