St. Michael’s Feast Day Mass
We are delighted that this year we will celebrate St. Michael’s Feast Day Mass at Carfin Grotto on 27th September. This is to coincide with the Anniversary of 100 years of Catholic Education.
We will depart from school at approximately 10am, this will allow time for the children to enjoy the grounds at Carfin for Holy Mass and for all to enjoy a picnic lunch.
We are sure this will be a great celebration and we are grateful to Father Michael for his organisation.
Please provide your child with a packed lunch on this day unless your child is in P1-3 or in P4-7 and receives a free school meal.
School Photographs
The photographers will be in the school on Monday 8th October 2018.
All children in School and Nursery will have individual photographs taken this year.
You may request a family portrait to be taken, however, this will only be done if you select the option below. If you do not select this option by Friday 5th October then we will assume that you do not require a family photograph to be taken.
If you have a child who does not attend St. Michael’s School or Nursery you may bring them into the school between 8.30 a.m. and 9 a.m. to have a family picture taken before the older children begin their school day. Children who attend the nursery in the afternoon will also have an opportunity to have their photographs taken from 1 p.m.
Children wearing glasses are asked to move them further down their nose than normal to prevent the flash showing in the photograph. Should you decide that you would prefer them to remove their glasses please tell your child to do so on the day.
Yours sincerely

Congratulations to our Respect winner, our Star Writers and our SHANARRI winners from our morning and afternoon nursery children.
We apologies for the website not being up to date since the end of the last academic year. We have had difficulties with uploading photographs to the page as we did not have enough disk space. This has now been rectified. The website will be updated regularly throughout the week.
On Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th June, there will be a limited service from our catering service. There will be prepared hot meals on Wednesday however, only packed lunches will be available on Thursday. The school will be dismissed at 1pm on Thursday (no 12.15pm dismissal on this day) therefore, you may wish to wait and give your child lunch when they return home.
If your child will be purchasing a meal on both or either of these days then these must be ordered and paid for in advance. If your child is in receipt of a free school meal, their lunches must also be ordered in advance. If you do not order (including free school meals) and pay for lunch in advance then a meal will not be provided for your child due to lunches being delivered from another kitchen. In this instance you will have to supply your child with a packed lunch.
Please ensure your child has enough money on their card on Monday 25th June to cover the cost of their lunches in the last week of term as there will be no facilities to ‘top up’ their card with cash at school after this date due to banking restrictions. The ‘top up’ machine will be closed down on Monday 25th June to ensure that no cash is left on the premises over the summer break. Alternatively you may ‘top’ their cards up online. There are no restrictions online regarding adding money to their card.
Your child will be issued with an order form, please complete and return the order form no later than Wednesday 20th June.
Yours sincerely

Primary 6 and Primary 6/5 carried out Drama and Literacy Activities in the forest this week. They used their excellent imagination skills to create super settings and develop characters which led to group writing. Some boys also based their ideas on the ‘Back to the Future’ movie.
