New Spring/Summer Menu

Please find attached next sessions school lunch menu. I would bring to your attention that Baked Potatoes are no longer available every day and that each meal includes EITHER soup or sweet treat and all options include a free drink – water, milk or aqua juice.
I would also encourage parents to visit http://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/primaryschoolmeals where you can sign up for weekly menu alerts.

Paper copies of the menu will be sent home with children today however from next session no paper copies will be supplied by the Council.

Spring Show

All pupils from P.4-7 will participate in this year’s Spring Showcase which will provide an interesting and entertaining insight into recent class topics and will also display the talents of the school choir and dance group.

The dates are as follows :-

Wednesday 21st March.   7 p.m.

Thursday 22nd March      7 p.m.

On Monday 12th March the eldest child in each family will be given three tickets for the evening of your choice.  If no preference is given the children will be given three tickets for one of the perfomances.  If the evening allocated does not suit you may return them to the school to be exchanged by no later than Wednesday 14th March at 3 p.m.  If your child is absent they will be given three tickets on their return.  From Thurday 15th  May the remainder of the tickets will be available on a first come first served basis from the school office.

The money for the tickets will be collected at the door on the evening of the concert.  Tickets are priced at £3.00 each. We are able to sell the tickets at a reduced cost as we are not this year paying for a licence for a show.  Entry will be by ticket only so please keep them safe as duplicates cannot be issued.

For Health and Safety reasons we must insist that every person in the hall has a ticket.  Please see letter attached regarding prams and buggies.

Tea and Coffee will be available during the interval.  We will also be having a raffle.

The children and staff have been working very hard for the Spring Showcase  and we are confident that you will have a very enjoyable evening.

Please click on the link below about regulations regarding prams an buggies at such events.

Book Fair

Book Fair

The Book Fair will be held between Friday 23rd March and Wednesday 28th March.  These dates coincide with the parent interviews being held on Wednesday 28th.  Please feel free to visit the Book Fair before or after your interview.  Alternatively if you would like to call into the school and browse through the books with or without your child please do not hesitate to do so. Parents of children in the Nursery may visit at any time during the day.

The timetable for the children to visit is as follows:

Primary 1A and Primary 7                    9.00 a.m.

Primary 1B and Primary 7/6                 9.35 a.m.

Primary 2A & Primary 6/5                    10.10 a.m.

Primary 2B & Primary 5                        10.45 a.m.

Primary 3A & Primary 3B                     11.15 a.m.

Primary 4 & Primary 5/4                      11.45 a.m.

In order for the Book Fair to be a success we require volunteers to assist both during the parent evening interviews and during the day when the children are timetabled to visit with their classes.  If you are able to help indicate this to member of the office staff.

Parents’ Evening

As you will be aware from our previous parents’ evening, North Lanarkshire have organised for a new online booking system for all parents’ evenings. Our next event is on Wednesday 28th March 2018 for all classes from Primary 1 to Primary 7.

Go to  http://www.parents-booking.co.uk/stmichaelsprimarynorthlan
PLEASE NOTE: You need to type this address into your website browser’s ‘address bar’. Do not try to ‘Google’ this website address or use a search engine as that will not work. This is a common mistake on phones and tablets especially.

Login to see which appointments are available and select one that is convenient for you.

You will need:

  • Your title and surname and email address (these must match those we have on record for you)
  • Your child’s first name, surname and date of birth

The system is live from 5th March and will be open to take your bookings until 27th March 2018.

Once you have logged in, I suggest you use the ‘make appointment individually’.  This will take you to the booking page, simply click on a time slot to reserve your appointment.  The orange bar ‘booking instructions’ at the right side of the appointment times will provide more information on the booking process.  The blue bar ‘email your bookings’ will send you email confirmation of your booking.

Troubleshooting Tips –  please read before booking!

  • To login you need to enter the details we have on record for you and your child. If you have recently changed your title or surname, for example, and not informed us, we will be expecting you to login with the details we have on record
  • The email address you enter is only used to receive a confirmation of your appointment. If the system gives you an error when you login, it will not be the email address that is the problem

If you require any further assistance, please contact the school office.
