Primary 5 used MTV ‘Compass Points’ to look more deeply into the difficult journey Mary and Joseph made to Bethlehem. Working together, they discussed the emotions, worries and needs that they may have had, and came up with suggestions to help keep them safe and strong.

Advent Assembly
Primary 5 delivered an excellent assembly all about Advent.
Community Lunch
This week we shared a special lunch with some senior members of our school community, hosted by our very own Mini Vinnies. Our choir provided some entertainment. It was a wonderful afternoon, enjoyed by all.
Mini Vinnies
Today our Primary 5 Mini Vinnie’s were officially commissioned with the Parish conference of the SVDP. It was a very exciting event and the children all did an excellent job.
Melted Snowmen
Today , Primary 5 made ‘Melted Snowmen’ biscuits. We used this as a stimulus for our Instructional Writing.
Media Block
During December, we have been carrying out our Media Block, where we looked closely at the different elements of film and how they are used to create a Christmas advert.

How to Steal Christmas
Today Primary 5 were inspired by the Dr Seuss story, ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ and we used this as a stimulus for our writing. We wrote instructions of ‘How to Steal Christmas’ and focused on using bossy verbs in our writing. At the end of our writing, we proof read our work to check for punctuation and highlighted our conjunctions.
