P7 had a fizz-tastic day of learning inspired by Scotland’s favourite soft drink – IRN-BRU!
Our classroom was bursting with creativity as we explored cylinder-shaped nets and put our maths skills to the test by designing and building our very own phenomenal Irn-Bru cans, each with a unique twist on the iconic design.
We also took a deep dive into the history of Irn-Bru and its economic impact on Scotland, discovering how this much-loved drink became a national icon. Using our research, we wrote detailed information reports to proudly showcase everything we had learned.
Just when we thought the day couldn’t get any more exciting, disaster struck! We received an urgent call from AG Barr—their factory conveyor belt had broken down, bringing production to a dramatic halt. Naturally, P7 sprang into action! Working cooperatively, we designed and built safe, stable transport systems to move the cans efficiently from one place to another, proving our problem-solving and teamwork skills were up to the challenge.
Maths, literacy, engineering and teamwork—all with a splash of fizzy orange magic!
