Anniversary Week Thanks

And that’s our anniversary week over. We’ve had an Open Day and Fun Day to celebrate. We finished today with a beautiful mass in our hall. Many thanks to all our invited guests, parents, family members and members of the wider community who joined us today. A special thanks to Mr Thomas for the music.

Our children were fabulous this morning. A big thanks to those who read, did the offertory and sang with the choir. The boys and girls celebrated this afternoon with cake and an extra play!!

A huge thanks to all of you who supported and celebrated with us this week. It’s been a fabulous 10 years here – wonder what the next 10 will hold???

Week Beginning 14th March

Here are a few wee bits of info about the week ahead of us!

On Tuesday of this week (15th) our school choir will take part in the Glasgow Music Festival Choir Competition is the Royal Concert Hall. They have worked really hard to prepare for this, giving up their lunchtimes to rehearse and we wish them the very best of luck. Could all choir members please remember to wear their shirt and tie.

On Thursday of this week (17th) we will be having out Lenten Fundraising day! This will help boost the money the children have been bring in daily for SCIAF. It will be a non-uniform day, which will cost the children £1. There will be a tombola and raffle on the day, and raffle tickets will be on sale from Monday. Tickets for both all be 20p. We will also have a “Beat the Goalie” event. For 50p, the children will have 3 chances to score a goal past our world class keepers – Mr McLaughlin and Mr McGroarty.
In the afternoon there will be a netball match, which will see the school netball team take on a staff team. All the children will be allowed to come and watch this, and this is included in the £1 the children have already paid.
We’re looking forward to a great day.

On Friday (18th) our P6 pupils will present their assembly. It is entitled “Our Learning Journey” and will give us an insight into what’s been going on in their classes this year. You are welcome to join us for this at 2.15pm.

As part of our Lenten preparations Father Jim will continue to say Mass in St Columba’s for us each morning at 8.15am.

Mother’s Day Assembly

Our P1 pupils celebrated Mothers’ Day with a lovely assembly this morning!! We are really proud of them.

Part of their assembly was a video of the children telling everyone why they loved their Mummy. I have now posted these videos in the “documents” section of the P1 classes Glow pages if anyone missed today or wants another look!
