Mother’s Day Assembly

Our P1 pupils celebrated Mothers’ Day with a lovely assembly this morning!! We are really proud of them.

Part of their assembly was a video of the children telling everyone why they loved their Mummy. I have now posted these videos in the “documents” section of the P1 classes Glow pages if anyone missed today or wants another look!

Week Beginning 29th February 2016

Here’s a wee bit of info about what’s going on in St John Paul II for week beginning 29th February.

On Monday, our P4 (Base 11) are heading off to Holy Family on their First Communion retreat. Please remember that the children need to bring a snack and their packed lunch with them.

At 9.30am on Friday our Primary 1 pupils will perform their Mother’s Day assembly. In the afternoon at our usual assembly, we will have a presentation from the Lanarkshire Baby Bank.

Our morning Mass for Lent continues at 8.15am each day. We are continuing to collect money for the SCIAF Wee Box appeal to build our “Road to Calvary” around the school.

Remember to keep your eyes on the individual class Glow blogs for more in-depth updates on what’s going on in your child’s class.

Christmas Party Information

Just a reminder that our Christmas parties take place next week. Children can bring their party clothes to school or can go home and get changed. If children are going home they can be collected from school from 12.15pm onwards and should be back for 1.20pm.

Party dates are as follows:

Monday 14th – P6 and P7
Tuesday 15th – P4 and P5
Wednesday 16th – P2 and P3
Thursday 17th – P1

Can I also remind you that due to the fact that we didn’t get our grant from
Cash for Kids, we are asking each child to pay £1 towards the cost of their party.

Just a reminder for all parents/carers of P1-3 pupils that they will be going to the Motherwell Civic for their panto on Tuesday 1st December. All children will be bringing home a Snack to Go form. If your child requires a Snack to Go for lunch on Tuesday then the form must be completed and returned to school on Monday. There will be no other option for lunch that day. Pupils should bring a packed lunch if not ordering a Snack to Go.

Please also note that the bus will return to school at approximately 4.00pm. Please make arrangements to have your child collected from school at this time.

Christmas Newsletter

You should all have received a newsletter today explaining all the events between now and Christmas.

This is a wee bit of additional info which wasn’t included.

On the 8th December children may wear a Christmas item i.e Christmas jumper, badge, headband, tinsel. This is to add to the fun of Christmas lunch day and is by no means compulsory.

There will be a flyer distributed with this info later in the week, but please share with anyone who might be interested.

Headteacher’s message

I am delighted to welcome you all to our new website. This is a fantastic way to keep us all in touch and I look forward to keeping you up-dated with all events in St JPII.

Thanks to our P5 pupils and their teachers for the fantastic Scottish Assembly. All pupils participated and gave the whole school and parents a very interesting and entertaining  history lesson in a short space of time.
