INFORMATION FOR THE NEW SCHOOL TERM

We are excited to welcome all of our children back to school!

Following the information from the Scottish Government on 31st July and the subsequent information from North Lanarkshire Council on 4th August 2020 (see www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/schoolplans) we have been working as a school management team to prepare information for our school community.

All of the information adheres to the guidelines from The Scottish Government and North Lanarkshire Council.

THERE IS A LOT OF INFORMATION FOR OUR PARENTS/CARERS TO TAKE ON BOARD.  Please read it carefully and try your best to stick to it.

By downloading our August Newsletter, you will find out:

  • More about start and finish times
  • Practical information (similar to what was issued in June)
  • Update on the phased return (as announced by North Lanarkshire)
  • Some Health and Safety information which ALL ADULTS should adhere to.  If you have another nominated person, other than a Parent/Carer doing ‘the school run’, please ensure that they also know what the new routines and expectations are!  Only if we all work together will things run smoothly and without issue.
  • Some information for our Nursery Children – please refer to your previous admission letter which we sent out in June also.

You can download the Information for the New School Term by clicking here… August 2020

JUNE NEWSLETTER & FURTHER UPDATE FROM NORTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL

Many thanks to everyone who managed to come along to school today to collect packs. During that period, the Deputy First Minister made some announcements in the Scottish Parliament.  The information within your packs remains unchanged, but please see the update below from North Lanarkshire Council.  You can come along tomorrow between 9am and 12noon if you still have a pack to collect.

“Today’s announcement from the Scottish Government outlines the plan to reopen all schools on a full time basis from August.

We are currently considering the practicalities and implications of this announcement and will await further clarification and guidance from government, particularly in relation to public health and scientific advice.

Our priority is the safety of our pupils and staff across our network of primary, secondary and ASN schools, as well as our early learning and childcare settings.

We understand that you will have questions, and as this news was only announced today, we will make further information available on how this impacts on our schools and facilities in the coming days.

We are preparing for pupils to return full-time to school on 12 August and we will be working closely with our schools and partners, including our early years and childcare provision to establish our plans, which we will communicate as soon as we are in a position to.”  (North Lanarkshire Council, 23rd June 2020, 5:07pm)

DOWNLOAD OUR JUNE NEWSLETTER BY CLICKING ON THE LINK BELOW.

In our Newsletter, we clearly say that we WILL be expecting the children to wear full school uniform in August.  Please note…

  • Ties are considered optional.  If your child is able to wear one, they should wear one.  It is your choice.
  • Short sleeved shirts would be preferable.  When we have such regular hand washing, the children can end up with soaked sleeves if they are long!  However – this is a parental choice.
