All of the dates of our Christmas events and celebrations for the children are on our newsletters but here are this week’s dates to remember. On their party day, children can be collected from school at 12.15, or can bring party clothes into school to change. 🎄🎅🏻🎄

Free Winter Coat Event – keep warm and save the planet!

Winter Coat Event

The Community Council are holding a Winter Coat event, where local people are invited to collect a winter coat for children/adults they know may need one.  Why not join the crusade to reduce waste and reuse perfectly good, pre-love clothing?!  It is becoming more and more popular.  The added bonus is that this will cost you NOTHING!  They will be in the Miners’ Welfare on the following dates:

Thursday 2nd December  11am – 4pm

Tuesday 7th December  11am – 4pm

Thursday 9th December  11am – 4pm

Simply turn up and choose a coat (or coats).  All garments are free!

First Confession, First Communion and Confirmation Information Meetings

Is your child in P3, P4 or P7?  Are they going to be making their First Confession (P3), First Communion (P4) or Confirmation (P7)?

Parents of these children are invited by Fr Morris and Fr Bogan to attend an information meeting.  These meetings will take place in both St. Gabriel’s and St. Columba’s Churches.  They will run simultaneously and you should go along to the church which you normally attend for Mass.

All meetings will take place on Monday 22nd November 2021

First Confession:  6:30pm

First Communion: 7pm

Confirmation: 7:30pm

If you are part of St. Columba’s Parish and are unable to attend, you should contact Fr Bogan to let him know that you wish to enrol your child for the Sacraments.

Fr Bogan’s telephone number is:  01698 817609

Booking an Appointment for Parents’ Night

Parents’ Night is planned for Thursday 25th November.

Appointments will be booked online again through Parents’ Portal.

The booking system is now live  and you can now book your appointment from Tuesday 16th November until Wednesday 24th November 2021.

I would ask that you only contact the office if you are having an issue.  In the first instance, please try and book for yourself online.  We are currently short staffed in the office and this would be a great help to us.  Please follow the link below if you have not already signed up for Parents’ Portal.

https://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/parents-portal

If you already have a Parents’ Portal account, you can login by clicking on the link below:

www.parentsportal.scot

As always, our office staff are happy to help you make an appointment if you are struggling.

Appointments will be carried out over the telephone and further details will be issued in due course.  It is unfortunate that we are still unable to have face-to-face appointments, but we are simply following Scottish Government Guidelines.  Keeping the appointments on telephone keeps things simple rather than trying to have virtual appointments on Teams or Webex.

Please do sign up, as your child’s Class Teacher is looking forward to chatting through their progress and achievement.

Remember that Parents’ Portal lets you sign in using ONE password, giving you access to:

  • Parents’ Night Booking System
  • iPayment System
  • Your child’s data/personal details/contact details
