Health and Wellbeing (Active)

Good morning children,

I wanted to spend more time on the Active part of SHANARRI as there are so many ways to keep active while at home. Unfortunately, we won’t be doing Sports Day this year in school as we are not back in school yet but I have found a brilliant website from Team GB Olympics and Paralympics which allows you to  find out more about the history and Values of the Olympic and Paralympic movements, or investigate the science and technology behind sport.

https://www.getset.co.uk/resources?type%5B%5D=all&subjects%5B%5D=all&ageGroups%5B%5D=all&campaign=home-learning

I will post resources from this website but if you have an adult’s permission, you should register as there are so many Home activities you could do, as well as looking at what Olympians do for training and healthy eating.

Get active, discover the Olympic and Paralympic Values, take a look behind the scenes at Team GB and ParalympicsGB. Take a look at this video:

Team GB have partnered up with ALDI so that they can educate children to eat healthily. Watch this film by following the link and then answer the questions

FILM DISCUSSION POINTS

Get started with our Master Skills film, teaching basic cooking skills for ages 5–11.

  • What tips does Jacqueline share for learning new skills?
  •  What different steps does Jacqueline follow when preparing her food for cutting?
  •  Can you name the different cuts/holds Jacqueline uses on her vegetables? What do you notice about them?

Who likes vegetables? Count how many you are eating today…

Keep safe,

Mrs McLaughlin x
