Caterpillar Spring 🐛 Butterfly Summer 🦋

Good Morning Everyone

Our Story of the Week yesterday was…Caterpillar Spring Butterfly Summer written by Susan Hood and illustrated by Claudine Gevry.

In the story it told us the caterpillar “wiggled about”.  Could you wiggle like a caterpillar?

It also said he “danced in a springtime ballet.  Do you know how a ballet dancer moves?  Give it a try!

When the caterpillar and the bugs were eating, the story told us he was “munching leaves as he marched through”.  Can you use marching feet, don’t forget your marching arms!

The next part of the story is where the caterpillar curled up for a “long and cosy sleep”.  Can you curl up nice and tight?.

Wakey Wakey , slowly spread your wings a fly like a beautiful butterfly.  Well done, that was good fun.

This chart show us how a butterfly grows and how it changes.

This is a fun video to watch with our friend Jack Hartman.

I love butterflies, especially the pattern on their wings.  The pattern is the same on both sides of the butterfly, this is called symmetrical.  In the link below you will find some symmetrical butterflies BUT something is wrong… can you help me fix it…oh thank you xx

Symmetrical Butterfly

Have fun, lots of love Mrs Cardigan xx
