Week beginning 25th November 2024

Our boys and girls have had another fabulous week in St Bart’s. The children thoroughly enjoyed a variety of after school clubs and other sporting   events this week. We are so lucky to have as many activities as we do on offer!

P1/2 and P2/3 have been working hard, learning about our community as part of interdisciplinary learning. As you know, the children have been collecting a variety of tinned food stuff to donate to the local food bank. They all thoroughly enjoyed their visit and were made very welcome by Pastor Stuart.  Thank you so much for all your kind donations, they are much appreciated.

Our Christmas Fayre on Saturday was a fabulous success due to hard work from our wonderful Parent Council and very kind donations from our fabulous parent community. Santa and his fantastic elf were very impressed with the wonderful manners demonstrated by our boys and girls and our equally wonderful Carol singers and musician on stage. They were outstanding! We will keep you posted on a final total of monies made after the Christmas Concert when remaining raffle tickets will be on sale. Thank you again for your continued generosity.

Kind regards,

Deirdre Bolland

P4 Mini Vinnie’s

Primary 4 shared information at assembly about what babies need. They shared informations on:

  • how babies communicate
  • preparing for a new baby
  • basic needs for a baby
  • keeping babies healthy, safe and happy

The children are putting together a baby layette and are asking for baby things to be put into it. The layette will then be given to the innocent society who provide support for families.

Primary 4 ACN Apostles

Primary 4 shared their work for the ACN with us at assembly. They showed us their lovely hand made red flowers and shared a video.

Next week is Catholic Education week and the primary 4 children are asking the school community to support their work for the Aid to the Church in Need Charity.

Red Wednesday 20th November

Children are asked to add something red to their uniform  – a flower, ribbon, bow to mark Red Wednesday. Children are asked to pray for those in the world who need support from the charity and they will be holding a cake sale on Wednesday to raise funds. Support from the school community with donations of cakes would be much appreciated.  The children will be able to buy a cake at break and lunchtime.

Congratulations to this weeks winning house.

Congratulations to this weeks Cool Class Cup winners.

Pastor Stewart came to visit us at today’s assembly to speak to us about the local foodbank in our area. He told us about the wonderful work they do in helping to provide food for people who need some extra help.

Our primary 1/2 and 2/3 children then told us that they have been learning about the fantastic work of food banks and we have asked everyone in our school if they would be able to help us in gathering some non perishable items for us to deliver to our local foodbank to help those in need. We would ask for all donations to be handed in for Friday 15th November please.
