St Bartholomew’s Newsletter – August 2025

A huge thank you to all of our parents and carers who made sure that our pupils look so smart in their uniforms ! Attendance has been wonderful and we are delighted to see all of our boys and girls at school every day. This is so important. Long may this continue. If you have not registered with Class Dojo then please do so, it is a convenient tool to stay in touch with your child’s class teacher on education matters.

The children have had a wonderful first week back and are looking forward to coming back on Monday to see us!

The week ahead looks like this:

Monday –

• St Bartholomew’s Day. Mss at 9.45am in the Church and a fun afternoon, including ice cream for all of the children!
•  Ms Duffy will be attending an active literacy course in the morning.
• Ms Allington meeting Jordann from Active Schools.

Tuesday – 

• Collegiate time for teaching staff after school.

Wednesday –

• First Aid course – Get Together Room.
• E Mc Geoch visit to nursery.
• Birth to Three panel meeting.
• Weekly assembly

Thursday –

• No entries…as yet.

Friday –

• Parent Council meeting 2pm

We held our first assembly of the year.

We gave a warm welcome to our new Primary 1 children who joined us for the first time.

Primary 7 led our first assembly with a prayer service. They looked so smart in their uniforms and primary 7 ties.

Welcome back to school from all of the staff at St Bartholomew’s! We are delighted to see the children return to their academic home . A huge thank you to all of our parents and carers for ensuring that all the children look so smart in their uniforms. It’s so important to feel a sense of belonging and togetherness and wearing our uniform greatly contributes to that.

A gentle reminder that parents do not wait in the playground with their children, before 9am.  The playground is supervised just before 9am to ensure children remain in their lines, ready to start the school day, calmly and quietly. Your support with this important matter is much appreciated. Thank you.

Class Dojo is set up in all classes and I would encourage you to use this electronic tool. It is a great way to communicate with your child’s class teacher about their learning. Should there be any health and wellbeing issue that you wish to discuss, make an appointment to speak with the class teacher. Thank you in advance.

St Bartholomew’s feast day is this Sunday 24th August  and as such we will celebrate mass, as a whole school, on Monday 25th August at 9.45am in St Bartholomew’s Church. Please join us to celebrate this Patronal feast with us as a Parish community. The children will then have a fun afternoon with the ice cream van paying us a visit. A great way to start a new school year!

We celebrate our P7 achievements at assembly this afternoon. The whole school community and parents joined the celebrations.
We wish them all good luck as they move to High School.

Week beginning 26^th May 2025

The sun is shining brightly, and forecasts continue to include warm and sunny weather. As such, could you please ensure that your child has sun cream on before leaving for school in the morning. Thank you in advance.

Our boys and girls have had another great week at St Bart’s with lots of entries to our ‘Wall of Inspiration’. Some of these successes can be extended with our variety of after school clubs on offer this term and other sporting opportunities throughout. We are so lucky to have as many activities as we do on offer!
