The Role of the Health for Life Group is to promote and support all aspects of Health and Wellbeing within St Bartholomew’s, helping all pupils, parents/carers and staff live their lives to the full.

Establishing regular ‘Healthy Cooking’ classes for children and parents.

Bringing back fitness activities

‘Walk week’ – will involve stampers and stamp sheets. Pr 7’s to work alongside Vikki. Date to be arranged. Leah to speak to Mrs Wilson, and get dates organised. Also to speak to Vikki.

Taste testing challenge

Taste testing – put on hold for now while the group focuses on the walk week and healthy cooking classes.

Healthy cooking classes

Healthy cooking classes – high school students could help. Mrs Wilson will contact High School and Tesco to try to arrange some workshops.

 

Feedback from Health for Life Group Meeting        September 2019

Bringing back fitness activities  (e.g. Jump Start Johnny)

Some of the Pr 7’s will help to run this. It could be awarded as a treat to the house winners during playtime or lunchtime. Group will discuss this at the next meeting and figure out how they can achieve this.

Taste testing challenge

Taste challenge e.g. sugar free cakes, fruit. Group will discuss this further at the next meeting and outline how they will make this happen.

Healthy cooking classes

Healthy cooking – find out if there are any parents that could help out with this. Group will write to parents to ask if they can help out with after-school clubs. Group will identify practical ways that they can make this happen.
