Following the AGM of the Parent Council on Tuesday evening, Mr Dennis Fallon was voted in as the new chairperson and Mrs Anne-Marie Kelly was voted in as the new treasurer. It was a very productive meeting, and plans were made to begin the 2016/17 school year by taking a fresh look at the curriculum offered to St Bartholomew’s pupils as well as beginning work on developing the playground and school grounds. Next year’s meetings will take place on the last Monday of each month at 6.00pm. Please contact Dennis Fallon or the school office if you would be interested in joining the Parent Council.

We welcome our new Primary 1 children to St Bartholomew’s this morning. The boys and girls will have the opportunity to visit their new classroom and do some activities with Mrs Carlin. While the children are having a wee taster of P1, mums and dads will have the opportunity to meet our Community Learning Development worker, Mhari Brady. Mhari will be offering parents further suggestions on how to support their child’s learning once they start school and will also be seeking their ideas and views on the sort of home-school activities parents would like to see offered in St Bartholomew’s next session. We look forward to welcoming our new P1s, along with their parents and carers, at 9.15am this morning.
