A huge welcome back to all! I hope that everyone has enjoyed a restful Easter holiday and have returned to school refreshed.

The photograph in the middle beautifully  illustrates Lenten promises created by our pupils. This week, Holy Week, sees the final part of our Lenten journey and we pray for spiritual enlightenment at this very special time in the Church’s calendar.

On Monday, we welcome all of our boys and girls, staff and parents back to school and nursery! We also look forward to seeing Claire Gordon from the NHS dental team to look after our ‘ pearly whites’ . Thank you Claire.

On Tuesday, Mrs McLean and Ms Allington will attend a numeracy course entitled, ‘Read , Write, Count’ that the authority are endorsing. We look forward to applying this  new information in order to enhance  numeracy skills for all of our pupils.

On Wednesday, our Primary 5 pupils will make their weekly trip to The Time Capsule. The children will enjoy a mix of wet and dry sports, where they will increase their skills and knowledge in both swimming and general fitness skills. So far, children have been a credit to the school and high standards of behaviour and manners have been readily reported. Long may it continue…

On Thursday, our fabulous kitchen facilities will be used in order to accommodate a cookery day for our younger pupils in Primary 1 to Primary 3. I am sure that the boys and girls will love it.Vicky from Community Learning and Development will also be  visiting parents in our Get Together room in order to help support them and their children. Thank you Vicky.

As a means of celebrating Easter, our younger pupils in Primary 1 to Primary 3 will enjoy an Easter egg hunt in our beautiful new garden area. A big thank you to our Parent Council for organising this lovely event. Our Primary 4 to Primary 7 pupils will enjoy taking part in a ‘decorate your boiled egg’ competition. This will be judged on Thursday and children are encouraged to be as creative as possible and there will be one winning entry per class. We look forward to having some difficult decisions to make on Thursday afternoon!
