All North Lanarkshire Council schools and nurseries will be closed today. Again, this is due to the severe weather that we are experiencing at the moment. I will use the blog and twitter to update parents and carers with any significant events regarding the weather.
Again, please use the resources, under ‘Information’ on our home page to access resources in severe weather for the children to complete. Children will be able to access a huge variety of interesting tasks on ‘glow’ and I know that Primary 1 children are well versed in accessing homework tasks from here.
Important learning can be creating from exploring outdoors and using this very unusual weather as a stimulus could prove very worthwhile. I would encourage all of our children to experience the outdoors, if it is safe to do so. We are all looking forward to hearing about snow adventures when we return to school.
It’s World Book Day today and as we can’t enjoy it in school, please find an opportunity for children to read and write today, whether it’s simply retelling a story about the effects of the snow outside, from a window or being engrossed in a favourite book. Get involved! Hopefully, we can simply move our planned events in respect of dressing as a favourite character and our ‘readathon’ from today until tomorrow, weather permitting of course.
