Friday already! Time flies when you’re having fun!
I certainly had lots of fun in Primary 5/6 yesterday. The children impressed me with their maths and reading skills in the morning and then put me to shame when they demonstrated how fluent they are in Spanish. Mr Young should have stuck at that Spanish night-class! The children rounded-off the day using the iPads to do some computer coding. What a clever bunch!
Many thanks to Liam in Primary 6 for showing such concern for an injured seagull in the playground yesterday. The bird had a broken wing and was stranded in the middle of the grass. After feeding the seagull some of his toast, Liam informed me about the bird, got Mrs Smillie to phone the SSPCA and then spent the rest of lunchtime keeping other pupils away from the area. I’m glad to say that the seagull was rescued by the SSPCA just after 3.00 o’clock. Well done to Liam: St Bartholomew’s very own St Francis (patron saint of animals)!
Our whole school assembly takes place this morning and will include, as always, Pupil of the Week certificates, the House Trophy and the Cool Class Cup.
Finally, a warm welcome to Mrs Brennan, Head Teacher of Holytown Primary School, who will be visiting St Bartholomew’s this afternoon to look at some of our resources.
