Mrs N’s Notes, 3.2.23
Week 2 Menus coming up in both the school and nursery.
Slight change of menu for Monday 6th Feb. Instead of cheese toastie & beans, we will have toast and beans.
Remember Breakfast Club is open in school from 8.15am each morning. No need to book. P.1-5 pupils will receive a free breakfast. For our older pupils, money should be added to their cards BEFORE they eat.
SPONSORED NETBALL SHOOT
Information is coming home in school bags today about our upcoming fundraiser in school and nursery. On Wednesday 22 February we will all take place in a netball shoot-out, with the chance for you to win a prize if you guess how many goals we score throughout the whole day! For only 20p a guess you could be the lucky winner walking away with a £15 Amazon voucher! Go on…get guessing. Remember you can guess as many times as you want, while helping us raise vital funds to help pay for school trips this year. All information in the letter coming home today. IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR CHILD TO TAKE PART, PLEASE RETURN THE EMPTY SPONSOR FORM TO SCHOOL. As always, we do not expect children to go around the doors – please remind them to stick to family and friends in order to stay safe.
SUSTAINABILITY CONFERENCE
Next week Mrs King will accompany a small group of children from our Eco Committee to a local Sustainability Conference planned for young learners. We look forward to seeing what ideas they can bring back to us. We are very proud of our Eco flag and need to work towards it each year in order to keep it. Expect family learning ideas to be coming home soon as we do this together!
SCOTTISH ASSEMBLY
As a grand finale to our Scottish Month, we held our annual Scottish Assembly this week. Children from every class took part, with EVERYONE from P.1-3 performing. Huge congratulations to all our certificate winners as well as everyone who learned a song or poem and performed it in class or on the day. Here are just a few photos that give you a flavour of the day.
Thank you to everyone at home who helped polish the individual performances!
HT FRIDAY FOCUS GROUP
This week saw the start of our new weekly Head Teacher treat group. Each week teachers will identify one pupil who has gone ‘above & beyond’ to meet with me to have juice, biscuits, a wee blether, a sing-song, a wee dance…the options are unlimited! I was delighted to meet with these 8 superstars today. Thank you all!!
HOLIDAY WEEKEND AHEAD…JUST ONE WEEK AWAY!
Please remember that school and nursery will be closed on 13, 14 and 15 February for our mid-term break. This actually gives you a 5-day weekend next week!
Is breakfast club ever offered to nursery children, it would be a great help even if a small fee or donation was needed
No I am sorry. No qualified nursery staff are employed from that time in the morning.
