Mrs N’s Notes, 22.4.22

Looking ahead to next week, we have Week 2 Menus, with a special Theme Day on Thursday!  The theme is ACTIVE LIFE DAY, with the following selection to choose from:

Lavish Lentil Soup

Chicken Dumbbells

Medicine Meatballs and Pasta Shells in tomato sauce (beef & vegan meatballs available)

Served with Runner Beans and Potato Wedges

Fitness Flapjacks

Diluting Juice

CHANGES AHEAD!

All families should have received an email this week, detailing our plans to revert to a basic 9am-3pm school day.  From Monday we will have no staggered breaks and all gates will be open at the beginning and end of the day.  We would ask that adults do not come into the playground before school, but you are welcome to wait in the playground from 2.50pm to collect your child at the end of the day.

At the moment, there are no changes to the nursery times or routines.

NURSERY SPONSOR

Our nursery pupils are taking part in a sponsored event next week to help boost our funds in Term 4.  Information letters will be coming home to all families today

DENTAL HEALTH

We are delighted that we have now been able to restart our toothbrushing programme in our nursery and infant classes.  All pupils have their own toothbrush and have the opportunity to clean their teeth after lunch each day.

In addition, we are looking forward to welcoming Child Smile in to visit our Nursery to P.4 pupils next Monday.

PARENT COUNCIL

Our Parent Council will meet on Monday 25th April at 7pm using WebEx (video conferencing app).  If you would like to join the meeting, please contact the school office or Cheryl Grant (Chairperson) and you will be sent a link via email.

We are delighted that our Parent Council are once again organising Leavers’ Hoodies for our P.7 pupils.  Please check all school bags for order forms today.

SPORTING EVENTS

Next week sees our first Football Festival for 2 years!  Mr Gall has selected the team who will take us to Bargeddie on Tuesday after school.  We can’t wait to participate with all the Coatbridge Cluster primary schools.

TRANSITIONS

Mrs McGarry has been in touch with all our feeder nursery schools and she will begin visiting our new P.1 pupils in their current nurseries next week.  We have now been given the go-ahead to invite parents into the building, so we will be in touch with all parents next week to share our plans for May and June as we get to know so many new families.

ASSEMBLIES

From next Friday we will meet together as a school for our weekly assemblies.  Please remember, the Gold Book is always available to record out-of-school achievements.  Ask your child to bring home a nomination form and tell us all about it!
