Homework Week Beginning 27th April 2026

Homework will be given out on Tuesday to be handed in on Friday.

PE days are now Tuesdays and Fridays. Please bring your kits on theses days ready for PE.

Spelling

Red – spelling rule: silent letters k, b, w, g.

Knuckle, knife, knee, bomb, thumb, crumb, wrapper, write, wrong, gnome.

–       Write three sentences containing as many of your common words as you can.

Blue – phoneme family: o-e, oa, ow, oe

goes, tomatoes, potatoes, heroes, whole, alone, those, nose, telephone, woke, coach, road, toast, soak, moan, window, shallow, borrow, snow, bowl.

–       Create a phoneme chart containing your phoneme sounds.

Green – phoneme sound revision: ch (chorus), se (cheese), c (city)

Common words revision (any, body, carry, along, story, back, bird, add, between, world, place, city, icy, face, more)

–       Practise writing your common words by writing some fun spelling (rainbow, pyramid, etc).

–       Write 3 sentences containing words from your phoneme sound.

Reading

Rubies- Read chapter 1 and 2 of the Queens Nose.

Sapphires- Read chapter 1 and 2 of the Demon Headmaster.

Emeralds- Choose a book you are interested in to read aloud to an adult at home.

Numeracy

We are focusing on fractions and decimals right now in class. When completing daily tasks, could you think about where we could use fractions and decimals in our everyday life.
